Minecraft Bi-Weekly Build Challenge #19: Jungle Tree Village

Contest is now closed!!!

LAST WEEK'S THEME: MODERN HOUSE

Gold

King Kowen Link 1 and Link 2

We say that big isn't always better because the bigger you build, the harder it is to make everything look good. However, this build shows us a way that going big was perfect. There's no points on this build that look close to being unfinished. The exterior looks elegant and modern and the interior is cool, especially the spots where he added some nature to his build (ferns, leaves). Great build!

Silver

dAdanedhel

Another great build! This one here added a balcony area that just looks great. That whole side of the building is very well done and block choice is very good as all the colour go together. We also really liked how this build really went with the terrain, something that not all people take in mind. However, the other side of the building, without the balcony, with the greenwall and the helipad seemed a little out of place (block choice wise). The back of the greenwall felt a little plain as it was all nether brick. If it had been a little smaller, as in only a section of that wall, it might have seemed a bit better, but being the entire wall, it took away a tiny bit from the rest of the build, which had used some other blocks (quartz and dark oak). As for the helipad, same thing as the base of your helipad was entirely made of andesite and although you used andesite a bit in the rest of your build, it wasn't too much. The bottom of the helipad just needed a bit more variation for me. However, besides that small detail, good build!

Bronze

PuffinPuncher

This build has really made me want to build with concrete blocks. They were used perfectly inside the house for the interior work as beams or on walls. The interior was great in this build, with there being depth in some rooms too, which helps. It isn't all flat surfaces. Some rooms had windows, where although it's only a small thing, they still add a lot to the room. The outside felt a bit chaotic though. There was too much going on in some cases and although it still looked cool, at first glance it felt like there were way too many elements to it. Very good build though!

Introduction

The jungle is a dangerous place to live, with creatures hiding in the ferns, leaves and overgrown plants…

Where can we hide? Oh I know!! In the trees!

That's where we're going this week in this challenge! We're going to be building treehouses in the leaves of jungle trees but also connecting them as well! So here we go, to the trees!

Also we got news! We got another judge!

For those that didn't know, myself, /u/Tilnit and /u/KrinonGaming have been the judges since the beginning. Well, we were thinking recently of adding another judge to help and /u/Akaed has been kind enough to join our team!

For new people to the challenge, Akaed has really impressed us in the past with his building skills, placing in many of the past challenges. He blew us away sometimes with the fantastic builds he did so after the Temple challenge, we asked him if he'd like to become a judge, as he is very qualified to do so.

This means that the four of us will now be judging and in the chat Akaed will be able to answer any questions that people may have. Also, as he is a judge now, he will no longer be participating in any of the challenges (obviously).

Challenge

The trees used in this challenge must be "jungle". So, you can use the default jungle trees, the 2×2 jungle ones or a custom jungle tree to build in. However, they all must be in a jungle biome, for looks.

Easy Mode: Three trees must be connected by some system of bridges. In/On one of these trees must be a house. The other trees have to have something else on them but it doesn't have to be a house (platform, ladder system, etc).

Hard Mode: At least six trees must be connected by bridges. On two of these must be a house with interior, one must be a lookout tower (for invaders in the jungle below, of course) and the other three must have something else on them (Platform, etc. You decide!)
